Hello friends! Welcome back to No Fear Astrology. Let's get into the transits for this month and how the last couple of months have unfolded. I want to specifically touch on Pluto's journey into Aquarius later on in the article.
The Planets
Covering planets moving into signs, retrogrades, directs and more.
The Sun moves into Aquarius on January 20th.
Mercury moves from Sagittarius and into Capricorn on the 9th, and then into Aquarius on the 29th.
Venus moves into Pisces on the 4th.
Mars retrogrades back into Cancer on the 7th.
Jupiter continues to retrograde in Gemini.
Saturn remains in Pisces.
Uranus is in retrograde in Taurus, where it turns direct on the 31st.
Neptune is in Pisces.
Pluto is in Aquarius.
The Nodes change signs this month. The north node goes into Pisces on the 12th, with the south node entering Virgo. The nodes are direct four days this month, on the 6th, and then on the 19th through the 22nd.
The Moon
The First Quarter Moon is January 6th-7th in Aries. The Full Moon is on the 13th in Cancer. The Last Quarter Moon is January 21st-22nd in Libra and Scorpio. From there, the New Moon is on the 29th in the sign of Aquarius.
Other Celestial Events
There's a meteor shower on January 3rd-4th. Be sure to grab a telescope and watch it!
Lunar New Year is on the 29th.
Venus hits its greatest eastern elongation on January 10th. That means if you see a super bright star in the sky, it's probably Venus. Here's some info on the astronomy behind Venus's cycle. Here's an article on the astrology of it. And here's an article, (though hard to read on mobile, especially with the font color!) that covers the elongation aspect specifically.
